Keira Knightley stars in this shocking new short film, directed by Joe Wright and brought to you by Women’s Aid - the UK’s domestic abuse charity.
I wanted to take part in this advert for Women’s Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society, we rarely hear about it. We may not think we know someone who has experienced domestic violence, but this does not mean that it is not happening. Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.
Without the services provided by Women’s Aid, many more women could be at risk of being killed.
Last night at Kensington Palace, Keira Knightley joined her boyfriend Rupert Friend to celebrate his role in Young Victoria. An ambassador for Chanel, Keira looked sophisticated and stunning (and extremely tiny) in a white knee length dress with a mini bolero inspired collar and of course shoulder pads.
Stella McCartney has designed for Comic Relief that feature unique photographs taken by her late mother, Linda. And Keira Knightley is one of the models.
Making it even more of a family affair, a host of celebrities and friends of the fashion designer, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley, Claudia Schiffer and Sam Taylor-Wood, have been photographed by her sister, Mary McCartney, wearing the T-shirts.
The T-shirts, priced from £5.99 for babies and children, and from £9.99 for adults, will go on sale on Monday at 214 TK Maxx stores nationwide, with all net profits from sales going to Comic Relief ahead of Red Nose Day on March 13.
