Keira Knightley was happy to film a sex scene for new movie THE EDGE OF LOVE - even though the naked romp was written by her mother.
The movie’s screenplay was penned by Knightley’s mum, Sharman Macdonald, who also served as a producer on the project.
Knightley insists that knowing her mother is capable of writing about steamy clinches didn’t faze her and she was happy to strip off wherever necessary.
She says, “She dared to put a sex scene in it. It didn’t worry me that my mother knows what sex is.
“Come to think of it, I was found under an apple tree. My mother is a virgin. I had no hissy fits when she presented me with the scene.”

The 23-year-old actress was happy to whip her bra off during a sex scene with Cillian Murphy in The Edge of Love.
She said: “It was very simple. It was a sex scene and I never like them when they’ve got bras on. So when asked I said, ‘alright then’.”
This isn’t the first time Keira has stripped off in a movie. The British star previously filmed steamy scenes for Domino and Atonement.
While the actress is happy to bare her flesh on the big screen, she is terrified of singing in front of the cameras.
Keira, who has previously spoken about her reluctance to sing in The Edge of Love, is set to receive singing lessons for the role of Eliza Doolittle in the remake of My Fair Lady.
The actress is determined her vocal abilities will be in tip-top shape when she belts out the movie’s classic songs, including The Rain In Spain and Wouldn’t It Be Lovely?.
My Fair Lady is due to start shooting in 2010.
Keira Knightley had to sing in ‘The Edge of Love’, in which she plays Vera Philips the lover of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and admits she found it incredibly tough.
Keira Knightley said: “I did some lessons with a voice coach because I can’t sing. It was live. There were 100 extras and the director John Maybury was like, ‘Now you’re going to sing.’
“I’ve never been so frightened in my entire life. I never want to do it again. I don’t want to be a rock star. “
In the film - which also stars Sienna Miller, Cillian Murphy and Matthew Rhys - Keira sings ‘Blue Tahitian Moon’, as well as renditions of ‘Maybe It’s Because I Love You Too Much’ and ‘Drifting And Dreaming’.
‘The Edge of Love’, which was written by Keira’s mother Sharman Macdonald, is set during World War II and is due for release on June 28.
